NADDC DEEPENS AUTOMOTIVE INNOVATION DRIVE WITH STRATEGIC VISITS TO AUTO GAS LEVERKUSEN AND LUCAS NUELLE IN GERMANY

NADDC Deepens Automotive Innovation Drive with Strategic Visits to Auto Gas Leverkusen and Lucas Nuelle in Germany

The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has continued its strategic tour of Germany with impactful working visits focused on alternative fuel and electric vehicle technologies.

On Day 2 of the visit, the NADDC Director General, Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, led his team to Auto Gas Leverkusen—an industry leader in vehicle conversion to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). With over a decade of experience, the company has successfully converted 10,003 vehicles to run on Auto Gas as of 2024.

During the visit, the NADDC delegation received a detailed walkthrough of the conversion processes, with special emphasis on the safety standards and protocols involved. The engagement offered key insights into best practices and the operational frameworks required to implement similar systems in Nigeria.

The team later proceeded to Lucas Nuelle, where the focus shifted to Electric Vehicle (EV) training and technology. A session led by Mr. Bastian, a representative of the company, provided a hands-on demonstration using didactic simulators to explore Battery Management Systems (BMS)—a core component in EV functionality and safety.

The day concluded with a collaborative discussion between NADDC and Lucas Nuelle on adapting and localizing EV training modules and gas conversion systems for the Nigerian automotive landscape.

The visits mark a significant step in NADDC’s commitment to embracing sustainable automotive solutions and advancing the future of mobility in Nigeria.
