NADDC Strengthens Partnership with Simba Group to Enhance Automotive Training in Nigeria
The Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Olu Osanipin Joseph, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Business Officer of Simba Group, Mr. Laveen Gupta, on 26th August 2025.
During the visit, Mr. Osanipin commended Simba Group for its continuous support to NADDC and the Nigerian automotive sector. He acknowledged the company’s sponsorship and delivery of three successful training programs held in Ekiti, Kano, and Lagos, which he noted have significantly contributed to capacity development in the industry. He further stressed that Simba’s strong brand presence in Nigeria has created avenues for customer engagement, while the training sessions have provided valuable feedback channels between the company and its end users.
In his remarks, Mr. Gupta reiterated Simba Group’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with NADDC and the automotive ecosystem at large. He expressed satisfaction with the training outcomes but suggested that future sessions be structured into three distinct categories- basic, advanced, and superior training programs to better meet the diverse needs of participants.
He explained that:
1. Entrepreneurs and shop owners should have specialized training tailored to their business needs, rather than being grouped with mechanics and employees.
2. Partners and aspiring business owners should be equipped not only with technical skills but also with business development training to enable them to sell vehicles, grow enterprises, and become more independent.
3. Skilled technicians and mechanics should continue to receive advanced hands-on technical training to enhance their expertise and service delivery.
Mr. Gupta also emphasized the importance of attaching value to the training programs by introducing a token fee for participants. According to him, when people pay, they tend to value the experience more, which would further elevate the professionalism and impact of the sessions.the visit concluded with a guided tour of the facility.
This collaboration between NADDC and Simba Group reinforces a shared commitment to skill development, local capacity building, and sustainable growth of Nigeria’s automotive industry. Both parties agreed to explore further innovations in training models that would empower Nigerians, strengthen entrepreneurship, and support the Federal Government’s drive for industrial development.
